At the heart of a holistic developmental vision, the Lava Social Impact , led by Executive Director Ms. Fatma Essam, continues to stand out as a pioneering institution in supporting and empowering women—particularly female breadwinners, widows, and cancer survivors. The foundation is built on a deep belief that economic empowerment is the first step toward human dignity and true independence. It strives to create a safe, supportive environment that opens doors for women to enter the world of sustainable work and production.
Lava Foundation is one of the subsidiaries of Lavander Life Exporting Group, chaired by Dr. Mai El-Darawy, who leads the group with a comprehensive vision that links community engagement with sustainable economic development. Commenting on this, Dr. El-Darawy stated: “At Lavander Life, we believe that true empowerment starts from the grassroots. Lava Foundation is the group’s humanitarian arm—it works from within the heart of the community, creating a real impact in women’s lives by opening the doors of productivity and dignity.”
The foundation focuses on providing professional training to women through specialized programs in handicrafts such as embroidery, sewing, and accessory-making. These skills enable women to launch small-scale projects and generate independent income. Lava places special emphasis on reaching marginalized women in areas like Sinai, Siwa, Fayoum, and Upper Egypt, working to develop high-quality, heritage-inspired products that reflect Egyptian culture while accessing local and international markets.
Lava’s role goes beyond training. Its activities also include financial and marketing support for women’s products, with full profits from certain items donated to charitable organizations—most notably, 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital. The foundation also sponsors conferences and social initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment and social entrepreneurship, creating a model that integrates compassion with sustainability.
In alignment with its belief in the importance of education, Lava offers training scholarships for pharmacy students in cooperation with universities. It also supports school students by providing mentorship, training, and assistance in launching community-based projects. This educational outreach reflects the foundation’s commitment to equipping future generations with the knowledge and skills necessary for a better future.

As Ms. Fatma Essam puts it: “We don’t offer temporary aid—we create sustainable opportunities. Every woman we train is a project of hope. We give her the tools and walk beside her until she regains her place and builds a future of her own.”
Today, Lava Foundation is far more than just a charitable organization. It is the social heart of Lavander Life Group and a living example of how giving, when grounded in knowledge and empowerment, can drive lasting change rooted in human dignity.
