Dr. Mai Darawy, Chairwoman of Lavander Life Group and widely known as “The Lady of Lavander,” announced during her participation in the session “From Meeting Rooms to Fields: Women Planting Seeds of Change” at the Sahara Agricultural Exhibition and Conference, the results of her research on using the lavander plant to support the treatment of epilepsy and brain hyperactivity, confirming that the initial trials have been highly encouraging.
Darawy revealed that 2026 will mark the beginning of pharmaceutical production based on lavander in Egypt, noting that this initiative will open new horizons for agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry, representing an important step toward delivering innovative natural solutions.
She also expressed her hope that by 2026 Egyptian fields will be covered with lavander blossoms, and that the “lavander harvest” will become a familiar sight across the country’s farmlands. Darawy called on Egyptian farmers to expand the cultivation of this promising plant, pledging to share her expertise and research findings with anyone interested in learning and working in this field.
